Eddie is doing well in his foster home. His courage almost matches his zest for life. When the two catch up to each other he will be quite the amazing little guy. Eddie is really a wonderful little character and his foster mom is most impressed with how brave he can be. She will put him in a new situation - and know he is scared - yet he will preserver and eventually the tail will wag and he will SMILE! He needs a family that will continue to challenge him to he brave - but that will re-assure him as they do it. He desperately needs to be able to trust the humans in his life and for him sometimes that can be a very fragile thing. Eddie would love to play ball but he's not sure what you are supposed to do with the darn thing once you catch it! He will gleefully try - tail wagging a million miles an hour as he goes.
Eddie spent much of the summer being the mascot for his foster mom’s daughter’s softball team. He traveled from town to town with them, hung out in the dug out, soaked up the pats and lovin' from all the girls and even learned to bark like crazy when there was an exciting play and the crowd would cheer. So with all of that he learned that going for a ride was a good thing and that fun things usually happen at the end of car rides. He also learned that new places are fun and exciting and that new people can be the same. He is still reserved with new people and will hit his belly if they come at him too quickly - especially men, but he gets better with every encounter.
The house breaking is slowly coming along. He has not pooped in the house for quite some time, but he needs to work on lifting his leg. He is wearing a bellyband yet being wet doesn't seem to bother him. He does however, keep his crate clean for very long periods at a time.
Eddie loves children and does well with all the other critters in his foster home. His foster mom feels that it would be good if he could go to a home with another dog - preferably a female so that maybe he won’t feel the need to mark his territory. Eddie’s foster mom said this about him - “of all of the fosters, I have had - he has touched my heart the most - he is so brave.”
