My house these days are quiet,
since the Rainbow Bridge you crossed;
mourning's pain comes collecting,
for what love's devotion cost.

A bark, a lick, a persistent nudge,
now engraved upon my heart;
when your arrival at the Rainbow Bridge
required that we part.

Excited yelps for treats dislodged,
from a Kong thrown across the floor;
pleasures stilled, time marches on;
life gently closed her door.

Summoned to the Rainbow Bridge,
you'll be waiting when its time,
the Lord will carry you through Heaven's gate
into these arms of mine.
